Located in the southwestern corner of Barron County, the Town of Vance Creek is comprised of rolling hills and valleys. Agriculture is the main occupation in the township, as it has been since its founding in the late 1800s. Early settlers were mostly Norwegian immigrants buying the cutover land left by the Knapp Stout Lumber Company. For a complete history of the Vance Creek and Reeve areas, please consult Paul Streif's book "The Reeve and Vance Creek History", published in 2007, and reissued in 2017, as well as an addendum. This website is dedicated to the residents and taxpayers of the Town of Vance Creek. It is designed to provide up to date information about town government operations, including all currently applicable ordinances and regulations.
